1. About these terms

In these Terms, “Grin & Print”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of the website at grinandprint.com (the “Site”). “You” and “your” mean the person using the Site or buying from it. “Content” means everything published on the Site, including text, jokes, memes, images, illustrations, designs, printables, software and tools. “Products” means the digital products and services sold through our shop.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they refer to, including our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, Disclaimer and DMCA Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you. Where these Terms say we exclude or limit something “to the extent permitted by law”, that is what we mean.

2. Who may use the Site

  • You may browse the Site and use our free tools at any age, but children should do so with the involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher.
  • To submit forms, subscribe to our newsletter, create an account or place an order, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) or be acting with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf. Children under 13 should not provide us with any personal information.
  • You must provide accurate information when you place an order or create an account, and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.

3. Using the Site

We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms. You may read our articles, share links to them, print individual pages for personal reference, use our free tools and download free printables made available to you.

We work hard to keep the Site available and working well, but we do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or remove any part of the Site, any tool or any Product at any time, for example to fix problems, add features or retire something that is no longer useful. We will try to give reasonable notice where a change affects something you have paid for.

4. The Meme Maker and other free tools

4.1 Your memes are processed in your browser

Our Meme Maker lets you upload a picture or choose a template, add top and bottom text and download the result as a PNG file. All of this happens inside your browser. The images you upload and the text you add are not uploaded to our servers, are not stored by us and are not visible to us. The finished file is generated on your device. This means:

  • you remain the owner of (or responsible for) any image you upload and any text you write;
  • we do not review, host, publish or distribute the memes you create, and we have no control over how you use them;
  • you are solely responsible for making sure you have the right to use any image you upload and for what you do with the meme you create, including sharing it online.

4.2 Templates provided by us

Any meme templates we provide are made available for personal, non-commercial meme-making, commentary and fun. Some templates may be based on widely circulated images. Their inclusion is not a guarantee that every possible use of them is lawful. If you plan to use a meme commercially, for example in advertising or on merchandise, you should obtain any rights you need. Our guide to meme etiquette and copyright explains the basics.

4.3 Joke Generator

Our Joke Generator serves clean jokes by category for personal enjoyment. You are welcome to tell the jokes, put them in a lunchbox or share a few with friends. You may not copy the joke collection in bulk, scrape it or republish it as a collection, as described in section 6.

5. Acceptable use

We want Grin & Print to be a friendly, family-safe place. When using the Site, our tools or our contact and submission forms, you agree not to:

  • break any law or regulation, or encourage anyone else to do so;
  • use the Meme Maker or any other tool to create content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or that bullies, threatens or targets a real person, including a child;
  • infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights, including by using a person’s image in a way they have not agreed to;
  • send us content that contains viruses, malware or any other harmful code;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, other users’ accounts or any connected system, or try to bypass any security measure, including our firewall and login protections;
  • use bots, scrapers, crawlers or other automated means to copy, harvest or index Content beyond what ordinary search engines do in compliance with our robots instructions;
  • overload, disrupt or interfere with the Site, for example through denial-of-service attacks or excessive automated requests;
  • use the Site to send spam or unsolicited advertising, including through our contact form;
  • impersonate Grin & Print or any other person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
  • use any Content to train, fine-tune or build a dataset for a machine-learning or artificial-intelligence system without our prior written permission.

We may block access, cancel accounts or refuse orders where we reasonably believe someone has broken these rules, and we may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

6. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the Site and its Content, including our articles, original jokes, joke collections, printables, designs, illustrations, graphics, logos, the Grin & Print name and the selection and arrangement of all of these, are owned by or licensed to Grin & Print and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.

  • You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back to the original page.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, sublicense or create derivative works from our Content, in whole or in substantial part, except as these Terms allow or as permitted by law (for example, fair use).
  • Some images and illustrations on the Site are used under licence from third parties and remain the property of their owners.
  • Our name and logo may not be used in a way that suggests we endorse you, your product or your service without our written permission.

Many jokes are classics that have been told for generations, and we do not claim to own a traditional joke itself. What we do own is our original writing, our original jokes, our particular selection and arrangement of jokes, and the designs of our printables.

If you believe that something on the Site infringes your copyright, please follow the process in our DMCA Policy.

7. Submissions and feedback

If you send us a joke, meme, idea, comment or other material (a “Submission”), for example through our contact page, you confirm that it is your own original work or that you have the right to send it, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights. You keep ownership of your Submission, but you grant Grin & Print a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, edit, adapt, publish and display it on the Site, in our newsletter and on our social media channels, with or without credit as described in our Editorial Guidelines. We are not obliged to use any Submission or to respond to it, and we do not pay for Submissions unless we have agreed to in writing beforehand. Feedback about the Site may be used to improve it without any obligation to you.

8. Digital products licence

Most of our Products, such as the Meme Bingo Party Kit, Lunchbox Joke Cards and Punny Birthday Card Bundle, are digital files that you download and print yourself. When you buy a digital Product, you are buying a licence to use it, not ownership of the underlying design or copyright.

8.1 What you may do (personal use)

  • Download the files and keep backup copies for your own use.
  • Print as many copies as you need for your own personal, household, classroom or non-commercial event use, such as a family party, a birthday, a classroom celebration, a school fundraiser where the printables are not themselves sold, or your child’s lunchbox.
  • Give printed copies to the guests or participants at your event.
  • Fill in, write on or customize the printed copies for your event.

8.2 What you may not do (no resale)

  • Sell, resell, rent, lend, sublicense, give away or distribute the digital files, whether altered or unaltered, including by uploading them to file-sharing sites, marketplaces, shared drives or social media.
  • Sell printed copies of the Products, or use them as part of a paid product or service (for example, a party-planning business or a printable shop), unless we have given you a separate commercial licence in writing.
  • Remove or alter any copyright notice, watermark or branding included in the files.
  • Claim the designs as your own, or use them as the basis of a logo, trademark or derivative product.

If you would like a commercial or multi-user licence, for example for a business, a large organization or an event company, email [email protected] and we will be happy to discuss it.

8.3 Custom design service

For our Custom Meme Design service, you confirm that you have the right to provide any photos, names, logos or other materials you send us and that their use will not infringe anyone’s rights. Once you have paid in full, you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use the final delivered design for personal purposes, or for the purposes described in your order. We may decline any request that conflicts with our acceptable use rules or our Editorial Guidelines, for example a design that mocks a real person, and we will refund you if we decline before starting work. We may display the finished design in our portfolio only with your permission.

9. Orders, pricing and payment

  • Placing an order. When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the Products in your cart. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email or make the download available to you, whichever is first.
  • Prices. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout. Applicable sales tax, VAT or similar taxes will be calculated and shown at checkout based on your billing details where required by law. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.
  • Errors. We do our best to make sure prices and descriptions are accurate. If we discover an obvious pricing error, we will contact you and you may either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
  • Payment. Payment is taken at the time of the order through the payment provider shown at checkout. Your payment details are processed securely by that provider, and we do not store your full card number. You confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide.
  • Refusing or cancelling orders. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if we suspect fraud, if a Product is unavailable, or if the order breaks these Terms. If we cancel after payment, we will refund you in full.
  • Discount codes. Promotional codes are subject to the conditions stated when they are offered, have no cash value and cannot be combined unless stated otherwise.

10. Digital delivery

For downloadable Products, you will usually receive access straight after payment is confirmed, through a download link on the order confirmation page, in your order confirmation email and, if you have an account, in the “Downloads” area of your account. Download links may be limited in number of downloads or may expire after a period stated at checkout or in your confirmation email, so please save your files somewhere safe. If a link has expired or a file will not open, contact us and we will help.

Custom design Products are delivered by email or download link within the time frame stated on the product page, which starts once we have received everything we need from you. We are not responsible for delays caused by incomplete or late information.

You are responsible for having a compatible device, software (such as a free PDF reader) and printer. Printed colors may vary depending on your screen, printer, ink and paper.

11. Refunds and cancellations

Because digital downloads are delivered instantly, special rules apply to cancellations and refunds. At checkout you will be asked to agree that delivery begins immediately; where the law allows, this means the statutory right to cancel within 14 days no longer applies once the download has started. This does not affect your right to a remedy if a file is faulty, not as described, or not delivered. Full details, including our rules for the custom design service and how to request a refund, are in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Disclaimers

The Site is a humor and entertainment website. Our articles, jokes, memes and tools are provided for fun and general information. They are not professional, legal, medical, financial, educational or psychological advice. Please read our Disclaimer for more detail.

To the extent permitted by law, the Site and its Content are provided “as is” and “as available”, and we make no warranties, whether express or implied, about the Site, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that any joke will make everyone laugh, that any party game will suit every audience, or that the Site will be free of errors, viruses or interruptions. Humor is personal, so please use your own judgment about what suits your audience.

This section does not affect any statutory rights you have regarding Products you buy from us, such as the right to receive digital content that matches its description and is of satisfactory quality where those rights apply.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • Grin & Print will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site or the Products, even if we were told such loss was possible.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the Site or the Products will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for Products in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD 50).
  • We are not responsible for content you create with our tools, for how you use it, or for any third-party website linked from the Site.
  • We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as internet or hosting outages, cyberattacks, natural disasters or actions of governments.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer in a country whose laws do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, those exclusions or limitations apply to you only to the extent permitted.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grin & Print from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Site or the Products, including any resale or unauthorized distribution of our files, (c) any meme or other content you create with our tools or send to us, or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party. We will notify you of any such claim and may choose to take part in its defense at our own cost.

The Site may link to third-party websites and use third-party services such as payment providers, security tools and a cookie consent platform. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third parties, and your use of their services is governed by their own terms. Links to other websites do not imply endorsement. Some links may be affiliate links, which we label as described in our Disclaimer.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Site at any time, and you may ask us to close your account by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or end your access to the Site or your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including those on intellectual property, the digital products licence, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, will continue to apply.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country where the law allows.

If you have a problem, please contact us first at [email protected]. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally, and we commit to responding in good faith. Consumers in the EU may also be able to use alternative dispute resolution bodies available in their country.

18. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies they refer to, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site and the Products.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a successor business, provided this does not reduce your rights.
  • No third-party rights. These Terms are between you and us, and no one else has the right to enforce them, except where the law provides otherwise.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English, which is the language that will be used for the contract.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, our Products or the law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Changes will not apply to orders placed before the change. If we make a significant change that affects you, we will let you know on the Site or by email where appropriate. If you continue to use the Site after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
